The G.728 codec operates at 16 kbps and is widely used for applications that require very low algorithmic delay. G.728 is an optional codec for compliance with the H.320 standard for audio/video telephony on switched digital circuits.

The VoiceAge G.728 implementation is fully compliant with the ITU-T G.728 recommendation.
